Tornado Watch Issued for Six Wyoming Counties
A tornado watch is in effect for Converse, Albany, Laramie, Platte, Goshen and Niobrara counties as of 1:10 p.m. Monday.
The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. It also covers a number of counties in Nebraska and Colorado.
A widespread "severe weather event" is forecast across southeast Wyoming and the western Nebraska panhandle today. The National Weather Service says the event looks to be "a strong and unusual event" for the area.
The highest risk for severe thunderstorms is along and east of the Laramie Range, particularly from Douglas to Chugwater and points to the north and east.
Weather threats for Monday include tornadoes, large and destructive hail, flash flooding and very strong winds.
