Wyoming Parkinson's Disease Support Group is teaming up with the Colorado Neurological Institute next Monday to bring a Parkinson's researcher and specialist to Casper, Dr. Rajeev Kumar.

"Dr. Kumar is well known and we're delighted he'll be coming to Casper and talk with our group and of course any other people in the area that maybe haven't been to our group, but want to know more about Parkinson's disease."

Jean DeFreece, for the Casper area Parkinson's support group, says Dr. Kumar is the Medical Director of the CNI Movement Disorders Center where he works with state of the art treatments for the, as yet, incurable disease.

Defreece leads the local support group.

"My husband had Parkinson's for about seven years. He passed away five years ago. I feel this is a very important thing for people who have Parkinson's to have a place to get together and talk about their problems, their medications and medical aids that may help them."

The public is invited to hear the doctor speak and find out more about the support group and Parkinson's disease. The informational event takes place at Christ Methodist Church, November 7th from 2-3pm.
