There was little change in North Platte River levels and flow rates in Natrona County over the weekend; that from Natrona County Emergency Manager Stew Anderson. He says it will be 4 to 6 weeks before water starts to recede.

"So we're still monitoring the streams and such, especially with these different thunderstorms that come through and we're monitoring with the weather service how much water is being dropped, where it's being dropped, so we can keep an eye on the river in case we get any sudden inflows from the streams. But as far as this last weekend goes, we didn't hear of anything significant or get any reports of any significant rises or runoff."

Lt. Anderson says they've seen a lot of sandbagging and preparations going on around town and the county. Now he says its mostly just a matter of time and waiting for waters to recede.

The flow levels recorded by the National Weather Service's Hydrologic flow chart shows the North Platte at 7.7 feet. Flood stage for Natrona County is 8 feet.
