The Natrona County Sheriff’s Office says over 40 horses in Natrona County have been stripped of tail and mane hair by a wandering horse hair thief. Similar reports have also been filed in neighboring Converse County and Fremont County.

Lieutenant Gus Holbrook is with the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office. He asks horse owners to not take matters into their own hands if they confront seedy activity on their property.

We don't want you to take justice into your own hands - let us do our jobs," Holbrook said. "If you see somebody out there, please call 911 so we can come out and investigate the situation."

Holbrook asks horse owners to be mindful of their surroundings and to promptly call authorities if they spot something suspicious happening nearby.

If you do have horses, just keep your eyes open - if you see anything suspicious whatsoever, please call 911 and report it to us and we'll get somebody out there right away," Holbrook said.

Sheriff’s offices in Natrona County, Fremont County and Converse County are still looking for suspects. Those with more information are urged to call the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office at (307) 235-9282, the Converse County Sheriff’s Office at (307) 358-4700 or the Fremont County Sheriff's Office at (307) 332-5611.
