Man Accused of Stealing Drugs from a Hospital Cart
A man was arrested in Casper yesterday for allegedly stealing more than $1,000 worth of drugs from a hospital cart.
Officers were called to the Wyoming Medical Center after a report that a hospital cart in an exam room in the emergency department had been broken into. Hospital security found that three boxes of Atropine and four boxes of Epinephrine were missing from the cart.
The last patient treated in the room was identified as 30-year-old Thomas Sternberg.
When a nurse from the ER asked Sternberg if he knew anything about the missing drugs, Sternberg stated- "Can't you make meth with epinephrine?"
After being questioned by police officers, Sternberg denied knowing anything about the missing drugs.
When investigating the scene, officers found the empty boxes in a trashcan and also found blood inside one of the boxes.
When Sternberg was discharged, he was arrested on a charge of felony larceny and was transported to the Natrona County Detention Center.
