SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) — Don Julian has resigned as head coach of the Sheridan High School football team after 11 seasons, during which he led the Broncs to five state championships.
Julian informed the team of his decision Tuesday and it was officially announced Wednesday.
The decision came on the heels of the Broncs' undefeated season and third consecutive state title.
Julian cited spending more time taking care of his parents for his decision.
Julian leaves Sheridan with 102 wins and state championships in 2009, 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2017. He earned coach of the year honors five times.
Julian has coached football for 27 years, first at Riverton, then at the University of Wyoming, before moving to Sheridan.
A new coach is expected to be hired by early 2018.
