Kelby Staley of Big Piney Signs with Chadron St. for Track

Big Piney track and field athlete Kelby Staley has decided to go to Chadron State in Nebraska to continue his athletic career. At the 2024 2A State Outdoor Meet in Casper, Staley placed 3rd in the 300 hurdles in 42.20, took 7th place in the 200 Meters in 23.39, and took 8th in the 400 with a clocking of 53.87.

Staley had a strong State Indoor Track Meet in Gillette earlier this year, taking 4th in the 3A 200 in 23.90, 5th in the 400 with a time of 54.11, and the Puncher 4x400 relay team placed 6th.

So far this season, Staley took 2nd in both the 110 and 300 hurdle events at the Strata Meet in Roosevelt, Utah, and was 1st in the 300 hurdles at the Wind River Meet in 43.57. Chadron State is a Division II institution that competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
