Sweet Vidalia Onions Are Coming To Casper This Weekend

Do you remember the song 'U Can't Touch This' by MC Hammer? You know the part where he goes...STOP! Hammer time?

Think of that song, and replace Hammer Time with Onion Time!

You know what I'm talking about, don't you?  Yep, it's the Casper Shrine Club's annual Vidalia Onion Sale. Beginning Saturday, May 9, the Shriners will be set up all across the Casper area with 10# bags of those sweet and delicious Vidalia onions.

For just $18, you'll have weeks and weeks of fantastic meals inspired by the onions that can only be called Vidalia Onions if they're from that special part of Georgia, and these onions were put on a truck at Bland Farms in Glennville, Georgia. Which is just 36 miles from Vadalia, Georgia.

Every year, Casper can count on a shipment of these classic onions arriving in May and being sold to benefit the Casper Shrine Club and its efforts to support the Shriners Hospital for Children. The city-wide Vidalia Onion kicks off Saturday, May 9, at 9 am, and will be your first opportunity to secure your bag this year.

If you can't get yours on Saturday, cross your fingers that there are some left. If there are, you'll be able to stop by the Casper Shrine Club daily (until they're gone) beginning at 9 am on Monday, May 11.

Glenrock and Douglas, you will have a chance to get your onions on Wednesday, May 13. There will be 1,000#'s in Glenrock at the 4-way stop from 12 - 6 pm, and there will be 800#'s in Douglas at Jackalope Park from 10 am - 4 pm.
