A rollover crash involving a commercial truck and trailer caused 4,000 gallons of diesel to leak from the trailer south of Afton on Thursday, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Joshua Burrup, 36, of Chubbuck, Idaho, was driving a tractor hauling diesel fuel for Hansen Oil Co., of Soda Springs, Idaho, when it rolled on U.S. Highway 89 about 39 miles south of Afton at 6:19 a.m.
Hazmat crews responded to contain the spill next to Salt Creek. At the time of the news release, the Highway Patrol did not believe any of the fuel had entered the creek.
The highway was was closed in both directions until 12:25 p.m.

Burrup sustained minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital. He was cited for failing to maintain a single lane of travel.

Contributing factors in the single vehicle crash are still under investigation.
