Cheyenne Police arrested two people Saturday morning for an armed robbery at a convenience store, according to a police spokesman.

Sgt. David Jaynes says officers were called to the Loaf 'N Jug at 1922 E. Lincolnway at 6:20 a.m. on a report of an armed robbery in progress. Jaynes says as police approached the store, they found one person running away and another fighting with a store clerk, 28-year-old Rodney Powers.

Police soon arrested both suspects, who each had a bb gun and a ski mask. Jaynes says no one was injured in the incident. One of the suspects has been identified as 19-year-old Tomas Morieo, who was arrested for armed robbery.

The name of the other person arrested is not being released because he is a 16-year-old male. The case is still under investigation by police.

Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr has applauded the police for their handling of the robbery, releasing a statement that said ''Well done, officers.''
