Casper's Jerren Johnson and team roping partner Cody Tew from Montana needed a spark to their summer on the pro tour and instead brought forth a big blast on Monday at Cheyenne Frontier Days. A 10.1-second run placed them second on the day and provided earnings of $1,600 apiece. More importantly, Tew/Johnson now has a spot in the CFD semi-finals this weekend. They did it the hard way. Johnson competed at Casper College and his uncle Jhett is a former world champion and is also a contestant at this year's Daddy of 'Em All.
