Road work continues at a couple of busy Casper intersections, but a number of motorists are still trying to live dangerously.

The Casper Police Department says officers have issued 524 citations to motorists in and around the area of the CY Avenue and Poplar Street intersection, between the time that project started in mid-May, through the end of June.

Joe Nickerson with the CPD says a number of citizen, construction worker and business complaints about motorists in the area have been received, because there have been concerns about everyone's safety.

"Speeding is probably the number one. We have a lot of trouble with people coming east-bound into town, not slowing down for the construction there on CY, so when it's going from 40 cutting down to the 20 in the construction, they are having a hard time getting that done."

Nickerson says officers have also issued 348 citations to motorists in and around the area of the Wyoming Boulevard and Casper Mountain Road intersection, between the time that project started in mid-April, through the end of June.
