The Casper Police Department will host its annual National Night Out celebration at the David Street Station from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 6, according to a news release.

The community is invited for an evening of fun including:

  • Tours of police vehicles.
  • Meeting officers.
  • Games, giveaways and doughnuts.
  • The department's detective Nash on main stage with his band.
  • Special guest, Safety Pup.
  • Chief Keith McPheeters taking the hot seat in the dunk tank.

The police department is holding the event in conjunction with the Food for Thought Summer Market.

Other sponsors include the Wyoming Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 6 and Joshua’s Storehouse.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships for safer neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.

It also provides an opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out in thousands of communities in all states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August.
