The Natrona County School District now has a site to construct the new North Casper Elementary School.

At its regular meeting Tuesday night, Casper City Council unanimously approved the sale of two city-owned lots to the Natrona County School District.

Casper mayor Kenyne Schlager says she looks forward to the construction of the new school on Casper’s north side.

“We are bursting at the seams at all of the schools, so it’s important to keep going,” Schlager said. “Though we don’t build schools, we are a part of the community and we’re happy to see these things happen.”

The school district will pay the city $808,515 for the land adjacent to Casper’s Boys and Girls Club location. The city plans to use proceeds from the sale to fund the completion of the third phase of the city's "Field of Dreams" baseball complex.
