An Angel of Death with an ice-cream craving makes a slight change in his appointment schedule, and chaos ensues. So begins the award-winning play "Eternity" by Michael Cochran, which had it's world premiere last weekend at Casper's Stage III Community Theatre.

Abe bumps a client appointment so he can get an ice cream. But Abe is a "soul collector", taxed with leading the newly dead to their "transfer point" and onto the next life. By saving the life of an ice cream vendor, Abe sets off a chain of events that could lead to a literal eternity of changes. Abe's efforts to get things back on track, aided by his long-time soul-collector partner Edith, lead to some wacky and tangled situations that eventually lead to a last ditch effort at a Las Vegas wedding chapel (complete with Elvis) and a surprise ending.
The script is a winner in the American Association of Community Theatres (AACT)  nationwide play-writing contest, and AACT also selected Stage III to produce its world premiere, which played to a packed house opening night. Stage III also received a grant as part of the process.

Author Michael Cochran says the show is a comedy, but also explores questions of relationships, theology, and more. "I love it when you can make an audience laugh and think at the same time", he says. "It has questions that we're asking every day about our relationships, about how you maintain a relationship, and so there's funny stuff in it."
