One woman was killed and another person was injured early Thursday morning after their vehicles collided head-on near Wright.

Jessica Cano De Najera, 26, died despite wearing her seatbelt, according to a crash report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

The Patrol says one vehicle was southbound in the left lane of Highway 59, near milepost 82, at about 5 a.m. Thursday. The other vehicle involved in the crash was northbound.

Weather conditions included blowing snow. The roadway was covered in ice and frost, according to the report.

The southbound driver lost control of their vehicle, which crossed the centerline into the northbound lane, where the two vehicles collided head-on.

The Patrol lists speed as a contributing factor in the crash.
