(AP) — The University of Wyoming and Colorado State University presidents intend to meet soon to talk about plans to sell a jointly owned ranch in southeast Wyoming.

The Y Cross Ranch sprawls across almost 80 square miles of high country between Cheyenne and Laramie. The University of Wyoming Foundation and Colorado State University Research Foundation have owned the property jointly since 1997.

The two schools have been preparing since last year to begin marketing the ranch this spring. The University of Wyoming Foundation says the ranch could go on the market within weeks but a Colorado State spokeswoman says the two presidents need to discuss the timing.

The woman who donated the ranch to the schools has expressed disappointment that it hasn't been used more for agriculture education as she intended.
