Wyoming Man Pleads Not Guilty in Wife’s Killing
CODY, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming man has pleaded not guilty to a first-degree murder charge in his wife's fatal shooting.
Dennis Klingbeil, who is 76, entered his plea on Friday.
Park County Circuit Judge Bill Simpson ordered that Klingbeil will remain in jail without bond.
Klingbeil is accused of shooting his 75-year-old wife, Donna Klingbeil, in their Wapiti home on Aug. 5.
Klingbeil's attorney Donna Domonkos argued that the shooting was an accident, not premeditated.
Police have said that Klingbeil took a number of pills in an attempt to kill himself after the shooting.
No date has been set yet for trial.
