Federal judges in Wyoming recently sentenced three people for methamphetamine-related crimes, according to a news release from the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.

Two of those defendants were the last to be sentenced for their roles in larger conspiracies.

U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson sentenced Joseph Gant, 35, for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Gant, with no fixed addressed, was arrested in Casper in April.

Gant received 10 years, one month of imprisonment, to be followed by five years of probation and was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment.

This case was investigated by the Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.

Gant was a co-defendant with Ann Songhee Tanquary, who was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment earlier this month. Firearms charges were dismissed as part of plea deals.

Gant and Tanquary were known co-conspirators in a meth-trafficking organization watched by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, according to charging papers filed in Natrona County Circuit Court.

They told investigators they frequently traveled to Denver to buy meth, bring it to Casper and sell it for $800-$1,000 per ounce.

Gant told authorities Tanquary had most of the connections, so she'd set up the drug deals in Colorado.

He also estimated that since March, he and Tanquary had traveled to Denver at least 20 times to buy meth.

The case started in Natrona County District Court and was transferred to the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office last summer.

In a separate methamphetamine case, Johnson sentenced Sadie Marie McKenna, 37, of Murray, Utah, for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. McKenna was arrested in Rock Springs.

She received six years, six months of imprisonment, to be followed by five years of probation, and ordered to pay $500 in restitution.

The DCI and the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office investigated this case.

McKenna was the last of six co-defendants to be sentenced in a conspiracy based in Green River from September 2016 to June 2017.

Chief U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced Joshua Kaleb Woodall, 43, of Aurora, Colo., for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Woodall was arrested on Interstate 25 near Douglas.

Woodall received five years of imprisonment, to be followed by five years of probation, and was ordered to pay $500 in restitution and a $100 special assessment.

The Converse County Sheriff’s Office, the DCI and the Wyoming Highway Patrol investigated this case.
