A Democratic candidate for the US House seat being vacated by Representative Cynthia Lummis, today took on Senator John Barrasso. And Ryan Greene tied the Republican-led Senate’s refusal to consider an Obama nominee to the Supreme Court, to Wyoming’s coal industry.
Here is his official release…
Today, Wyoming Democrat and U.S. House Candidate Ryan Greene delivered a letter to U.S. Senator John Barrasso’s Rock Springs field office, asking the senator to stop playing political games with Wyoming coal’s future.
The letter highlights the fact that by denying the U.S. President a vote on Supreme Court Nominees, Senator Barrasso and Republican leaders are postponing key Supreme Court decisions, and prolonging an atmosphere of uncertainty for Wyoming coal producers and mines. The letter also focused on the unconstitutionality of these actions.
In remarks to reporters, Greene said “we’re seeing one of Wyoming’s senators follow the party bosses, instead of doing the right thing for Wyoming coal. What if the next president is Trump, or Clinton? Its no secret that Senate Republicans don’t support them. So how long will they make Wyoming coal wait?”

Greene headed a family business, Greene’s Energy Services, which provided fabrication, field, crane, and welding services to many of Wyoming’s coal mines and power
plants.
