CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A judge in Wyoming has sentenced a 75-year-old Missouri woman to life in prison for killing her husband in the mid-1970s.

Alice Uden was sentenced Monday in Laramie County by District Judge Steven Sharpe.

In May, jurors in Cheyenne didn't buy Uden's argument that she shot 25-year-old Ronald Holtz in the head to defend her toddler daughter from him. They found her guilty of second-degree murder.

In a separate case, Uden's current husband, 72-year-old Gerald Uden, pleaded guilty in November to shooting his ex-wife and her two children in central Wyoming in 1980. He's serving a life sentence.

Authorities arrested the Chadwick, Missouri, couple in southwest Missouri last fall.
