Winter Storm Closes Most Yellowstone Park Roads
A winter storm is causing significant road closures in Yellowstone National Park and probably will affect them during the last weekend roads are open for motorists, according to a news release from the park.
The National Weather Service also reports winter storm warnings and watches are extending south into Lincoln County and east and southeast in Park, Fremont, Hot Springs, Fremont, Sublette and Fremont counties.
The winter storm warnings and watches will remain in effect until Saturday night.
In Yellowstone, the only road open is from the North Entrance at Gardiner, Mont., through the park to Cooke City, Mont.
Through the rest of the park, the storm may close all other roads through the weekend. Nearly all roads will be closed at 8 a.m. Monday.
Forecasts call for a total snow accumulation of up to two feet in some areas through Sunday morning.
