As Casper College closes in on completing its building projects over the next couple years the Casper College Foundation is kicking off a last round of fund raising.

Foundation President, John Jorgenson says, "All of this come together ultimately to be $97. 3 million dollars in construction. The exciting part is, through partnerships with the University of Wyoming, with the state of Wyoming, and with the bond issues that have been put in place, all that's left is a very small part. We're here to talk about a private campaign we're launching today that's going to be called, "Vision, Campus Community".

In this final push, announced Monday, he says they hope to raise another $6 million for the Foundation to be used towards completion of enhancements around the campus.

Foundation Vice President, George Bryce, wants potential donors to be aware that 2011 is a really good year to make a tax deductible contribution. He says a lack of action on the part of congress means this years tax law retains extra benefits to the donor.

"It's something that most people haven't talked about, but its a great year to make meaningful contributions to your favorite charity. Our main message is, talk to your tax advisor, talk to your financial planner, to take advantage of this 2011 abnormality in the tax law."

The launch of the private fund drive is also accompanied by the news that Casper College has been ranked nationally as 25th in the nation in a ranking of the best community college from StateUniversity dot com.

Casper College and Utah's Mountainland Applied Technology College were the only two community colleges in the Rocky Mountain region to be named in the top 25.

The most important factors are a school's ACT/SAT scores, its student retention, faculty salary, and student/faculty ratio.
