Univ. of Wyoming Student Government Wants Clarity on Flag Resolution

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The University of Wyoming's student government has postponed a vote on flying a flag commonly associated with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender pride on the university campus.

The Associated Students of the University of Wyoming was scheduled to vote on a resolution next Tuesday.

However, ASUW director of governmental affairs Chris Ryan says a committee voted to table the resolution on Wednesday to allow time to clear up some ambiguous wording.

The proposal comes about a month after UW police responded to complaints that the pride flag was flying where an American flag normally flies. The American flag has been restrained with zip ties and a lock was placed on the flag pole to make the pride flag difficult to remove.
