UPDATE: Casper Police report that the man involved in the shooting on Jackson Street died on Tuesday. The woman who was shot remains hospitalized.

The investigation continues.

=====================================================

One victim was flown to a Denver hospital early Friday and another continues to receive medical treatment in Casper after they were shot inside a home in the 900 block of Jackson shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

The victims, a man and a woman both in their mid-forties, were living in the same home, according to Casper Police Lt. Chris Hadlock. They were both shot, suffering traumatic injuries.

No arrests have been made and no one is in custody for questioning at this time, but police have determined everyone involved in the shooting.

At this point, police believe the shooting was an isolated incident contained within the home. There is no threat to the community, Hadlock says.

Police declined to release information on whether anyone else was inside the house at the time of the shooting or who called 911.

Hadlock says police are still finding people they need to speak with. The scene of the shooting will be contained for several days.

Police have not said how many shots were fired Thursday. Hadlock says investigators are still trying to figure out how they can speak with the victims, given the nature of their injuries.

"We want to make sure they get taken care of," Hadlock told reporters Friday morning.

Hadlock says it will likely take several days to complete the investigation.

"Investigations like this, they don't end quickly," Hadlock said. "We're trying to get a whole perspective of everything that goes on in a situation like that."
