The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a tornado warning for parts of Converse, Platte and Albany Counties.

At 4:54 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Esterbrook Campground, which is 24 miles south of Douglas.

Ping pong ball-sized hail is possible with this storm.

It is expected to track in mainly rural areas of northeastern Albany, northwestern Platte and southwestern Converse Counties. This includes Interstate 25 between mile markers 104 and 114 and between mile markers 116 and 119.

The warning is expected to expire at 5:30 p.m.
