A former University of Wyoming student was arrested on a charge of aggravated robbery.

Michael Luke Yerkovich, 27, of Rock Springs was taken into custody in Casper on Nov. 13.  A warrant was issued for his arrest after information provided to Crime Stoppers by a concerned citizen helped a Laramie Police Department Detective identify Yerkovich as the suspect in a 2013 armed robbery.

Police say that a man walked into the Laramie K-Mart at about 7:50 p.m. on Feb. 15, 2013, and demanded specific narcotic medications from the pharmacist.  Police say the suspect indicated he had a gun before fleeing on foot.

The initial investigation yielded no suspects, but a call to Crime Stoppers back in Oct. 2015 provided the LPD with enough information to identify Yerkovich as a suspect and obtain a warrant for his arrest.

Yerkovich was transported to the Albany County Detention Center where he faces a felony charge of Aggravated Robbery.  If convicted, Yerkovich could face between five and 25 years in prison.
