A Casper man now admits he assaulted one of his neighbors.

Thirty-five year old Stephen Koch has pleaded guilty to one charge of aggravated assault.

Police say in late June, Koch was in the process of moving, when he thought one of his neighbors was laughing at him and also thought the neighbor was sleeping with his wife.

That’s when Koch went over and swung a pipe at the victim.

The attack was blocked, but the victim suffered a broken hand as a result.

Several witnesses and Koch’s wife say that Koch had been drinking prior to the incident, and he had a blood alcohol content of 0.16.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors will not seek a penitentiary sentence, but they could argue for a jail sentence at the Natrona County Detention Center, time at the Casper Re-Entry Center, and/or a term of probation.

Koch's sentence will be handed down at a later date.
