UPDATE 6:35 p.m. Thursday: Wyoming Highway 789 near Lander has been reopened in both directions, however the Wyoming Highway Patrol is still conducting an investigation in the area. Northbound I-25 remains open near Douglas. Southbound I-25 traffic is still being rerouted through Douglas.

UPDATE 5:07 p.m. Thursday: The Wyoming Highway Patrol has closed northbound and southbound lanes of Wyoming Highway 789 north of Lander after a fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a commercial vehicle. Troopers are conducting a crash investigation at the site.

 

One person is dead and two people are injured after a head-on collision near Douglas on Interstate 25.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says the crash involved two commercial vehicles that collided in a construction zone.

The crash has closed the southbound lanes of I-25 near Douglas. Authorities say I-25 will remain closed until troopers complete their investigation.

Southbound traffic is being routed off I-25 at an interchange near Laprele Creek just after milepost 147. Traffic will enter I-25 again after passing through Douglas.

Highway patrol officials say motorists can expect travel delays near the Douglas area as the investigation continues.

Authorities have not released the names of the three individuals involved in the accident. The two injured individuals have been transported to a hospital in Douglas.
