A single vehicle accident west of Casper has taken the life of a man in his mid-20's.

The man was driving a small pickup on Highway 20-26 Friday afternoon when at roughly 3:15pm, he lost control on a curve near milepost 55.

The truck left the road to the right, the driver over-corrected and went back across to the other side, where the vehicle rolled several times coming to rest on the driver's side.

When officers arrived, they performed CPR, but he died at the scene.

He was wearing a seat belt.

The man's name and city of residence have been withheld until notification of next of kin.

The Highway Patrol tells K2 Radio News that excessive speed and alcohol are being investigated as possible contributors to the crash.
