More Snow, Wind to Impact Wyoming Travel Through Thursday [VIDEO]
Another dose of wind and snow looks to make for hazardous travel on Wyoming highways through Thursday morning.
K2 Radio Meteorologist Don Day of DayWeather, Inc. expects high travel impacts on Interstate 80, with moderate impacts for I-25 and I-90. High winds are expected to develop along I-25 and I-80 Tuesday night through late Wednesday causing blowing and drifted snow, limited visibility and possible blow over risk.
Additional snowfall is likely to develop in northern Wyoming, moving into the central part of the state Wednesday through Thursday morning.
Strong winds, blowing snow and limited visibility are expected along I-80 near Arlington and Elk Mountain. To the east, blowing snow, poor visibility and slick conditions are expected on I-80 between Laramie and Cheyenne.
I-25 between Cheyenne and Casper should see strong winds, blowing snow and slick conditions developing late Tuesday night through late Wednesday night.
Light snow is expected to develop over northern Wyoming, including I-90, during the day Wednesday.
"By late Wednesday afternoon and evening, snow will spread south into the central, south-central and eastern counties of Wyoming, and all of Wyoming's mountain passes," Day predicts. "We're looking at snowfall amounts that will be light, but the combination of snow and strong winds and freezing temperatures will make for hazardous travel conditions Wednesday, Wednesday night through Thursday morning along with the strong and gusty winds."
