RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) — The Fremont County Coroner's Office is investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy whose body was recovered Monday night from a river.

According to the Associated Press, the boy was reported missing Monday night on the North Fork Road between Lander and Fort Washakie.

Fremont County Coroner Ed McAuslan says the toddler was found in the North Fork River. Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. McAuslan says he understands the child was at a family reunion picnic in the area. McAuslan identified the toddler as Joshua Hurtado and said he's from the Ft. Washakie Area.

An autopsy on the boy is was scheduled for Wednesday in Loveland, Colo.
