Casper Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested in Montana
A man was arrested in Montana in connection to the burglary at Wells Fargo Bank in Casper last week.
48-year-old David Sands was arrested on Saturday after police responded to a shoplifting report at Smiths grocery store in Great Falls, Montana.
According to Lt. Tito Rodriguez with the Great Falls Police Department, arresting officers were called to the scene for a shoplifting report. After seeing the FBI warrant for Sand's arrest in connection to the Casper robbery, officers took him into custody. Sand's involvement in the shoplifting case is unclear at this time.
Last Monday, a man entered Wells Fargo Bank in Casper, approached a bank teller and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
According to Sgt. Amend with the Casper Police Department, a citizen contacted police two days following the robbery after recognizing the man in a security camera image. An arrest warrant was then issued out for Sands on a charge of felony burglary.
It is not yet known if Sands will face federal or state charges in the case.
