Laramie Man Charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Manslaughter
A lengthy and intensive investigation conducted by Laramie police officers and detectives has resulted in the arrest of Artem D. Day, a 24-year-old Laramie resident for second-degree murder, manslaughter, and sexual battery for the killing of a woman between March 11, 2018, and March 12, 2018.
Laramie Police spokesperson Lt. Gwen Smith said bond has not yet been set in the case and Day remains incarcerated at the Albany County Detention Center.
No other information has been released.
Both second-degree murder and manslaughter carry a prison sentence of up to 20 years.
Sexual battery is a misdemeanor punishable by one year in jail, $1,000 in fines or both.
At this time, these charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
