A Casper man denies that he broke another person's jaw

Twenty-nine-year-old Kiyon Brown has pleaded not guilty to one felony charge of assault and battery and one misdemeanor charge of battery.

Investigators say in late February, brown was ending a relationship with his girlfriend,  sparking an argument that resulted in attempts by several of the girlfriend’s family members to intervene.

Brown told police that when one woman jumped him, he started swinging, hitting several people.

One person suffered an open compound fracture of her jaw, while another was hit in the face and was bleeding from the lip.

Brown is being held on $25,000 bond awaiting trial and could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
