Kelly Walsh Boys Win 4A Track Title, Glenrock Boys 2nd in 2A
The Kelly Walsh boys track team prevailed at the state meet to win the 4A championship for the 3rd time in the last 4 years. The Trojans edged Sheridan by 4 points with Emory Yoosook placing first in the long jump, plus the Trojans took the tape in the 4x100 relay. Overall, KW picked up points in a number of events. They wenrt 5-6-7 in the 100 meter dash and 2-4 in the 200 meter dash. Darius Wiggins took 4th in the 400 while Sage Coventry took 3rd in the long jump and the high jump with a 4th place finish in the triple jump. The Natrona boys took 4th place as Hunter Brown took the gold in the high jump with 2nd place finishes in the long jump and the triple jump. NC's Brendon Gustafson won the 4A shot out. On the girls side, Kelly Walsh's Taylor Rowe won the state title in both the 100 and the 200 meter dashes. Natrona's Raeyn Gallegos took 2nd in the 100 and Kayla Stibley placed 3rd in the pole vault. The Glenrock boys took 2nd in the 2A team standings as Tucker Bopp was the state champion in the 400 meter dash with a 2nd place finish in the 100 and 3rd in the 200. On the girls side, Glenrock's Annelise Clark took 3rd in the 100, 3rd in the 400, 4th in the 100 hurdles and 2nd in the 300 hurdles. In 1A boys, Midwest placed 10th as Caleb Smith took 2nd in the 110 hurdles.
