Many teams that competed at the recent Junior College Volleyball National Championship tournament in Casper, not only had to adjust to the opponent that they were playing against, but they also had to deal with the high elevation atmosphere.

Of the 16 teams that competed, three were from Florida, three came from Texas, and one was from Alabama.

Trintiy Alualu is originally from Hawaii and plays for Blinn College, which is about 75 miles northwest of Houston, Texas.

She and her team competed in last year's tournament in Casper, and says the lessons they learned from that, have paid off.

"The elevation is a lot of harder to breathe in, so with that, we just prepared physically, emotionally, and mentally, because it's a lot different atmosphere, than back at home in Texas. Most of our girls like the snow, so I mean just like how I experienced it for the first time, there are some of my teammates, that are experiencing snow for the first time too, so, it's not as cold as last year."

Blinn College ended up winning the Junior College Volleyball National Championship Tournament, for the second year in a row.
