A Casper man has admitted he robbed a smoke shop.

Joshua Capshaw has pleaded guilty to one amended charge of robbery (originally aggravated robbery).

Investigators with the Casper Police Department say in September 2015, Capshaw entered the Mocha Moose smoke shop on the 800 block of CY Avenue, demanded money and showed a handgun.

After getting an undisclosed amount of money, the man took the employees to the bathroom of the business and told them to wait until after he left.

A security camera recorded the incident.

Several days after the robbery, the store manager, Kelly Harmon, told police she knew that Capshaw robbed the store.

Harmon stated Capshaw had talked about robbing the Mocha Moose several days prior to the robbery, according to the affidavit.

Harmon did not tell police at the time of her initial interview, because she didn't want her friend to get into trouble.

Harmon had known Capshaw for several years and had provided methamphetamine to him.

Capshaw also had dated her daughter.

Despite that familiarity, Harmon tried to persuade Capshaw to "'do the right thing'" and return the money.

She denied having any involvement in the robbery and said the crime was his idea.

Police later recovered a semi-auto 1911-style BB gun from where they found Capshaw, as well as clothing that matched what was worn by the suspect in the video.

He said the robbert was not his idea, rather it was Harmon's idea.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors will seek no more than a six-to-eight year prison sentence.

Capshaw is being held without bond and will be sentenced at a later date.
