1 Killed, 4 Injured in Head-On Crash Near Rock Springs

One person was killed and four others injured in a head-on crash north of Rock Springs over the weekend, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4 at milepost 15.8 on U.S. 191.

According to a fatality crash summary, a Ford Ranger was southbound when it slowly faded into the northbound travel lanes and struck an oncoming GMC Sierra head-on on the northbound shoulder.

The crash left one of the drivers, 65-year-old California resident Allen Hull Jr., dead, and the other driver and three passengers injured.

The summary says the highway was dry and it was clear and severely windy at the time of the crash.

It lists driver inattention, driver fatigue/asleep, and a possible medical condition as possible contributing factors.
