WYDOT Puts Out Caution Map After Snow Event
Drive easy this morning. It's going to be slick out there.
The map will help you on your journey.
That big, slow-moving, snow event that buried a good portion of Wyoming will slowly come to an end on Wednesday 10/30/2024.
Most Wyomingites will wake up to slick roads and slow-moving traffic.
An early look at the WYDOT highway map shows most Wyoming roads are under caution.
As you can see by the map below, few roads are red, meaning closed.
Still, these slick conditions, especially the orange colors you see on the map, are considered some of the most hazardous to drive on.
This won't last too long.
By Thursday, which is Halloween, most highways will be back in the green.
More good news is that we won't have any hard wind events pushing that snow around.
BE WARNED!
The problem will then be that melting snow will turn to ice overnight, making for slick roads once again in the early morning hours.
This on and off again freeze between day and night will continue for a few days.
A good idea would be to keep an eye on the WYDOT road map, which you and find at this link.
Meteorologists are forecasting a cool but pleasant weekend.
More snow is forecasted to come our way next week, though, at this time, those snow events do not look as heavy as the one we just had.
It's just going to be a matter of watching out for slick spots, such as black ice, during the morning hours.
