“Tacoma country club is a fantastic, traditional golf course that I think compliments what we have been focusing on this fall,” Head Women’s Golf Coach Josey Stender said. “I have been pleased with the overall effort and consistent play so far. We have also had balanced contribution from the entire lineup, so our goal is to get off to a better start in round one for everyone.”

The Cowgirls enter the week after finishing eighth at the CSU Colonel Wollenberg Ram Classic led by an impressive outing from Jadan Gonzalez. Gonzalez will be looking to keep her momentum rolling after having an outstanding performance at the CSU Colonel Wollenberg Ram Classic where she earned her first top 20 finish of the season. On her way to finishing 16th in Fort Collins, Gonzalez posted a three-round total of 214 (-2) which is the best three round score by a Cowgirl at that tournament and the third lowest three round score in program history.

Joining Gonzalez in the starting lineup will be Morgan Ryan, Kyla Wilde, Tomine Bjerkelo and true freshman Samantha Spielman who is coming off of a career best tied for 27th finish at the CSU Colonel Wollenberg Ram Classic.

Sophie Spiva will also make the trip to Tacoma as she is set to compete as an individual.

The Cowgirls are set to be tested in Tacoma as they go up against the largest field, they have faced so far this season with 21 teams taking the course. Amongst them will be host school Seattle who is coming off of an impressive third place finish at the Gonzaga Invitational coming in ahead Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, UC Riverside, CSUB and South Dakota who will all also be in action at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational.

Mountain West foe Fresno State will also be making the trip to Tacoma making it the second tournament in a row that the Cowgirls will see the Bulldogs on the course. Last time out Fresno State came in three spots ahead of the Cowgirls at the CSU Colonel Wollenberg Ram Classic.

The Cowgirls will tee off the tournament on Monday with two rounds of play set for a 9 a.m. MT start time. Live stats will be available on Birdiefire.com.
