I-80 Reopened in Wyoming; Winter Storm in Western Wyoming

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A 100-mile section of Interstate 80 in southern Wyoming reopened Friday after being closed the day before because of snow and strong winds.

However, sections of the interstate in the southeast part of the state remained closed to light, high-profile vehicles because of persistent strong winds. I-25 between Cheyenne and Wheatland also was closed to light, high-profile vehicles because of the wind.

A winter storm warning remained in effect Friday in western Wyoming, including the Jackson Hole region, where heavy snow, avalanches and avalanche mitigation caused dangerous travel conditions and closed roads.
