Casper could see high winds as a strong, cold Pacific low-pressure trough and cold front approach Wyoming on Monday.

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a high wind watch, which will be in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening.

High winds could develop around midday and continue through the evening before the front passes.

South-southwest winds of 35-40 mph are expected, with gusts to 60 mph, in Sweetwater, Natrona and portions of Fremont County.

High winds will significant increase the blow-over risk for trucks pulling light weight, as well as other high-profile vehicles.

Outdoor burning is not recommended, as the winds will increase the chances of wildfires.
