Safety at Hogodon ski area will be the focus of  forums hosted by the City of Casper's Leisure Services Advisory Board next week. Plans for two public forums come after two people were killed and another seriously injured in an accident on Christmas Eve day at the Casper ski area.  Pete Meyers, for the City of Casper, says the accidents have generated a lot conversation about safety procedures and what might need improvement.

"We believe that Hogadon is a safe ski area, but people are talking about different ways that we may be able to improve safety and this would be an organized way to collect that input from anybody who might have some."

The forums will be held next week. The first will be on Tuesday, January 25th, at the Casper Recreation Center.  The second on Wednesday, January 26th, at Hogadon.  Both forums will run from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM.

Hosted by the Leisure Services Advisory Board, the public forums will be open to all.  Management from the Leisure department and Hogadon will be at both meetings to answer questions, but officials hope  the public will be there to share  their concerns and ideas on how safety might be improved.
