Former Wyoming Secretary Of State Cited For DUI
Former Wyoming Secretary of State Ed Murray was cited for driving under the influence on Dec. 15, according to a citation released by the Circuit Court of Laramie County.
The citation says the ''Def. was involved in a private property accident. Def. had a strong odor of alcohol on his person, slurred speech and poor balance." It also says the "accident occurred at the edge of his property" and that he was ''incapable of driving safely.''
A court date of Jan. 20 was set in the case. Murray served as Secretary of State from 2015 to 2018. He resigned in February of 2018 after a pair of women leveled allegations of sexual misconduct dating back to the 1980s against him.
Prior to his resignation, Murray had been considered by many political observers to be a strong candidate for governor in 2018.
Murray denied the sexual misconduct allegations.
