CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming school district where junior high school students posted racist and anti-gay flyers last spring plans a youth equality summit.

The summit will take place Aug. 20 at Central High School in Cheyenne.

Laramie County School District No. 1 officials said Monday students helped plan the learning program to counter harassment, intolerance, racism, sexism and bullying.

As many as 100 students will take part in what organizers hope will become an annual event. Based on need, another summit may be held later this year.

McCormick Junior High School students in March posted flyers that read "Join the KKK" and "it's not OK" to be gay."
