Driver Hospitalized, 13 Cows Killed in Southern Wyoming Crash
Roughly 13 cows were killed and a driver was hospitalized after a commercial truck crashed on Interstate 80 Thursday night.
I-80 was closed in both directions between mile markers 46 and 47 immediately after the crash. The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating.
Uinta County Fire and Ambulance says the semi truck, which was hauling some 45 head of cattle, left the roadway for an unspecified reason. The truck then rolled onto its side and caught fire.
The driver was taken to Evanston Regional Hospital with unspecified injuries.
Emergency responders worked to contain the cattle and pull a number of cows out of the trailer. Roughly 13 cows died at the scene.
Authorities said more information would be released as it becomes available.
