Downed Power Line Causes Power Outages in West Casper

Casper Police said in a release on Wednesday evening that a vehicle struck the power pole that fell and ruptured on top of the Subway on CY Avenue. The rupture caught the power pole on fire and cut power to a large portion of West-side Casper.

Rocky Mountain Power was able to return the power to neighborhoods promptly. Transformer oil that had leaked into the streets was stopped by the Casper Fire Department and Casper Streets Division.

Casper Fire Department reminds residents to never approach a downed power line. Consider any line down to be charged.

At this time it is unknown if there were any injuries.
