The city of Casper is preparing for its second-annual CityFest event next Thursday.

Chairperson Jennifer Scott said the event provides an opportunity for the city to educate its residents about the importance of all city departments.

“People can find out who works for the city, what we do, and we’ll showcase the equipment we use,” Scott said. “We’ll also answer questions about what we might do, like how we go about filling pot holes, or (about) the quality of water in the city.”

Scott also said the event provides residents a chance to see important city equipment up close.

“It’ll be hands-on for people in the community,” Scott said. “They can see equipment from fire trucks, to the parks equipment, to street-paving equipment, to everything.”

The free event is scheduled from noon to 7 p.m at Highland Park, which is located at the corner of 4th and Beverly.

Casper City Council will serve free food at the event at noon and 5 p.m.
