A two-month-old baby who was life-flighted to Colorado after her mother allegedly threw her into a ditch at a Cheyenne truck stop has been released from the hospital.

Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta says Lillian Jeffrey's daughter (K.J.) was released from Children's Hospital Colorado over the weekend and is now in the care of the Department of Family Services.

The baby, who suffered multiple skull fractures and a collapsed lung, was wearing only a diaper and T-shirt when police found her lying in a rock-covered ditch at Love's Travel Stop on Dec. 9. The wind chill was 30 degrees at the time.

According to an amended affidavit, Jeffrey told detectives that "K.J. was a demon" and that she "cleansed and manifested" her. She said that "the spirits wanted her to thrown K.J. in the ditch" and that "the throwing of K.J. was part of the manifestation and not the cleansing."

Jeffrey also reportedly told detectives that she last used methamphetamine three or four nights before and that she "normally uses 20 cents worth" because she "doesn't want to be dizzy around her children." She told detectives she "can't smoke weed" because she's trying "to get her children back from DFS."

Jeffrey, who's charged with aggravated child abuse, is being held in the Laramie County jail on a $10,000 cash bond. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 20 at 1:30 p.m.
